Club Activities Planned for 2023-24 S1:
Week 1
Introduction to the overall plan of our CCA. Introduction to different mental illnesses and some of their cases. We may read some articles or watch some videos about the illnesses.
Week 2
Introduction to the therapy of the illnesses we covered last week and some of their cases. We may read some articles or watch some videos about the therapies.
Week 3
Penultimate week: Every two weeks, I will introduce a specific case that happened to me or that I have read about. We will analyze the psychological principles behind the cases (mainly in adolescents, such as depression or anxiety caused by family conflict or academic pressure) and the social factors that lead to these issues. Then students can talk about their feelings about what we have went through this week or share their similar experience in their own lives. (Hopefully, we will finish a case in two weeks, but if it is too complicated or too easy, I will extend or shorten the time accordingly.)
Final week
I will summarize what we have covered this term. I will invite students to talk about how they feel about our CCA and give me some suggestions on how to improve next term.
